Mitch Park in Edmond, Oklahoma

Mitch Park is a family friendly 280 acre park in north Edmond. It has two playgrounds, a disc golf course, Mathis skate park, two basketball courts, exercise stations, volleyball court, ball fields. Extra features include covered pavilions, picnic tables, restroom, and charcoal grills.

The southwest part of the park contains the Multi-Activity Center (MAC), which houses the Senior Center, the Parks and Recreation Department administrative offices, and classroom / meeting space for public activities. This is also where the Mitch Park Amphitheater is located. The newest edition to this area of the park is the beautiful Edmond YMCA Recreation & Aquatic Center. My favorite feature at Mitch Park is the 5 miles of paved multi-use trails, which are two lanes wide. They are very popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, families and dog walkers. See the Trail Map Link below to view a map of the trails. See my visit to Mitch Park.

This park is beautifully landscaped with native trees, plants and wildflowers, which provide visual interest in every season. It is also a great place for bird watching, and there are several bird watching stations that are regularly stocked with seed.
