A Visit to Mom’s

My mother is a master gardener, and she’s taught me a lot about plants over the years. She likes unusual things, so her garden always has something interesting in it. Being in her mid 70s hasn’t really slowed her down much, she still does all the dirty work herself. Here are a few things blooming at her house right now.

Ghost plant
Perle Von Nurnberg Echeveria in a really cute pot!
Japanese Roof Iris
Husker Red Penstemon, I love this foliage
Purple Smoke Tree Blossoms, more on this later.
Deutzia. There are ants all over this, they must be the pollinators.
Purple Oxalis
Lychnis
Fotinia
This Hardy Orchid adds such a vivid color to the garden. It really stands out!

Looking back, maybe I see where I got my love for purple flowers!
