Someone’s Always Watching

25°F, cloudy and windy.snowflake-30

We had our first hard freeze in OKC last night. The leaves are falling like rain. The top of the pond out back is frozen. I decided the critters could use some bird seed (even though the Chinese Pistache is full of berries now). Here’s a short story of how the next 30 minutes went.

  1. How do you feel about the squirrels eating all the bird seed? I have mixed feelings. I wish the birds could get it all, but I know the squirrels are hungry, too.

    1. Squirrels make me crazy sometimes! it depends on the feeder and the bird really. Cardinals like eating off the ground or the bird feeder, so it works out. PLUS, Roxy gets a little exercise chasing the squirrels away (She doesn’t bother the birds). This group of cardinals are a family that nested next door over the summer. Pretty large group – it’s been nice seeing them grow up and hang around.
